Canton Fair Information Session and Reception - Atlanta

Please join us to learn more about the biannual China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), China’s largest and most important trade show.  With over 58,000 exhibitions, the Canton Fair is one of the best places to source products, meet partners, and reach the growing Chinese consumer market.  This year, the spring session of the Canton Fair will be held from April 15 to May 5 and the fall session will be held October 15 to November 4.  U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce (USCCC) is pleased to have been a partner of the Canton Fair for over 15 years and has led several trade missions to the Canton Fair.  We are grateful for the support of Metro Atlanta Chamber and World Trade Center Atlanta for this event.  The Chamber, in cooperation with other organizations, intends to lead a mission to the Canton Fair this fall. 

 

This information session provides relevant information for companies and professionals interested in sourcing products from China as well as selling products to China in a cost-effective way and discovering new business opportunities.  The presentation and Q & A session with the Canton Fair organizing committee will be followed by a cocktail and networking reception.  A senior leader of the Canton Fair will be joining us from China through video link.  This is also a unique opportunity to network with others engaged in international business. 

 

There is no fee to attend this event but space is limited and it is by invitation only. Please note that no walk-in registration will be accepted. The registration deadline has been extended to Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

20th Annual Chinese New Year Dinner

After the Women Executives Forum, we hosted our 20th Annual Chinese New Year Dinner to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rooster.  Over 100 people shared a 10 course traditional Chinese dinner to observe this important tradition.  The Honorable Hong Lei, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China joined in this celebration via video message.  Our keynote speaker was Sam Pitroda who shared his thoughts about “The Future of Asia Pacific Telecommunications and IT Industry.”

  • The Honorable Hong Lei, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China - The Honorable Hong Lei has become Consul General of the People’s Republic of China after serving as Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Deputy Director General, Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.  Consul General Hong will join us by video.

  • Sam Pitroda has 50 years of experience in the information and communications technology industry and is considered the “Father of the Indian Telecom Revolution.”  He served as Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovation and is the Founding Chairman of five non-profit organizations including the India Food Bank.  He holds 20 honorary PhD’s and close to 100 worldwide patents. 

 

Executives Forum: “The Future of U.S.-Asia Pacific Trade and Investment in the Trump Era”

To recognize the increasing roles of and unique challenges for executives in U.S.-Asia Pacific business, as well as the importance and benefits of diversity to a business organization, U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce held its Executives Forum.  We assembled a group of senior level female executives in a variety of industries, including manufacturing and government, to share their unique experiences in operating internationally.  Speakers include: Teresa Hack, President, Channel Products; Yen-Jung Lin, International Sourcing Director, Briggs & Stratton Corporation; Alice Gao, Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial Banking, ICBC USA N.A., and Kumiko Watanabe, Partner, Grant Thornton LLP.
