U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce (“USCCC”) successfully assisted the Birmingham International Center, Alabama for the event: “Spotlight on China,” which was held on January 22 and 23 in Birmingham, Alabama. Altec, Inc., a member of USCCC is a major sponsor and part of the organizing committee.
The event started on the evening of Thursday, January 22 with the “Ambassador’s Dinner in Honor of Ambassador Cui Tiankai.” On Friday, January 23, an “Alabama-China Business Roundtable” was held with discussions covering a wide range of business issues in trade and investment between Alabama and China. The seminar also provided networking opportunities for future business exchange. The program focused on agribusiness, automotive, energy, and aviation.
Speakers included The Hon. Li Qiangmin, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston; Greg Canfield, Secretary of Commerce for the State of Alabama; Lee J. Styslinger, III, Chairman and CEO of Altec, Inc. and others. Lunch keynote speakers included Siva Yam, President, USCCC and Robert J. Thomson, Chief Executive, News Corp.

中美总商会（U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce）很荣幸能协助阿拉巴马州的伯明翰国际中心（Birmingham International Center）举办“聚焦中国”活动。该活动将于1 月22日和23日在阿拉巴马州的伯明翰举行。Altec，中美总商会的会员之一，将是该活动的主要赞助商和筹备委员会的一员。
活动第一天，即1月22日周四晚上，将举行一个招待中国驻美大使崔天凯的晚宴。1月23日周五将举行“阿拉巴马-中国商贸圆桌会议”。会议将讨论阿拉巴马州和中国之间的商贸和投资事宜，会议同时也将提供商务社交活动以促进未来的商业贸易交流。会议主要将讨论农业，汽车，能源和航天工业方面的问题。
会议发言者将包括中华人民共和国驻休斯敦总领事李强民，阿拉巴马州州政府秘书长Greg Canfield，Altec首席执行官Lee J. Styslinger, III.和其他人士。午餐主讲人包括中美总商会会长Siva Yam任剑浩和新闻集团首席执行官Robert J. Thompson。
