Changzhou Meets Kansas: A Seminar on Opportunities in the Aviation Industry

U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce and Changzhou in China are  pleased to invite you to “Changzhou Meets Kansas: A Seminar on Opportunities in the Aviation Industry.”  A cocktail reception and dinner will immediately follow the seminar.

 

This special event will be held on Monday, June 15, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Hyatt Regency Wichita, 400 West Waterman, Wichita, KS, 67202.  It will provide a platform for participants to meet with government leaders including Mr. Li Chenguang, Vice President, CCPIT Changzhou, to learn about some of the issues relevant to U.S. companies looking to expand their operations overseas. 

 

China is the world’s second largest market for aviation, and the Chinese government has identified aviation as one of the keys for China’s economic growth.  The following are highlights:

 

  • China’s general aviation sector is projected to grow by 20% annually.

  • Air traffic in China is expected to grow by 7.8% annually over the next 20 years.

  • China is striving to join the U.S. and E.U. to manufacture large commercial airplanes, including C919. C919 is currently being assembled in Shanghai with almost $320 billion investment in total.

  • China will open up more low-altitude airspace.

 

Changzhou, in particular, is poised to become a center in the development of China’s aerospace due to:

 

  • Changzhou is located in the Yangtze River Delta and is an hour away from Shanghai by high speed rail.The Yangtze River Delta is one of the most affluent, international, and fastest growing areas in China.

  • Changzhou’s Aviation Industrial Park will focus on manufacturing and maintenance. It will also be a destination for training and recreational flying due to its special status. Attached please find a list of selected aviation companies in Changzhou.

  • Changzhou’s Aviation Industrial Park is one of the two aviation parks in China with open low-altitude airspace.

  • The city is a major commercial center in China with well-developed infrastructures, sophisticated supply chain services, and advanced manufacturing.
